COURIER 05/ 12/ 2008 Hispanics learning their rights Beverly Ayala, co- owner of La Chiquita in downtown Waterloo, has been passing out copies of the Miranda rights statement in Spanish to members of the Latino community. She hopes the effort will familiarize both those who are here legally and illegally of the rights they have when taken into custody. Usted tiene el derecho de guardar silencio. �� Entiende Usted ? Cualquier cosa que Usted diga puede ser usada contra Usted en una corte de ley. �� Entiende Usted ? Usted tiene el derecho de hablar con un abogado, y tener un abogado presente durante nuestras preguntas ahora y en el futuro. �� Entiende Usted ?
